Option 1: Team Sailing

For some competitive fun with your work colleagues why not experience the enjoyment of sailing through Team Sailing?

Described as chess on water, Team Sailing is a great way to learn the skills of crewing in a competitive arena.

This session starts with a quick theory session where you will learn the skills required to crew for an experienced skipper. You will be given an explanation of how the racing is run and how to work out if your team is winning or losing. Each team consists of three boats that sail head-to-head around a set course using the Racing Rules of Sailing to block, stall and stop the opposition boats so your team can get past. An on-water judge penalises boats that break the rules, making it a fast flowing game. Work colleagues not in sailing boats help the instructors with judging, starting and collecting finish positions.

Having fun is the key and everyone is involved in making teams sailing a great event. This activity is highly recommended for those people with a competitive nature but the activity also requires colleagues who can help facilitate the event by working on the water with the instructors.

From start to finish Team Sailing will take three hours. ASC Sailing School can run this session for 6 to 24 people. A great way to start the festive season! Why not add in drinks, nibbles and lunch or dinner at the club for the complete experience. We can organise a catering package for you.

Option 2: Learn to Sail

There is no better feeling than sitting back relaxing while the wind does all the work. Relieve the stress of the passing year or energise for the new one by learning the skill of sailing. A great opportunity to work together with your colleagues and embark on a sailing adventure!

ASC Sailing School instructors will start by showing you everything you need to know and after some on shore practice you will be hitting the water for an enjoyable cruise under their guidance. They will have you rigging, launching, reaching and tacking the Adelaide Sailing Club’s two person Pacer sailing dinghies. If the weather is warm we can even capsize the boss for your enjoyment.

A pleasurable experience while gaining basic sailing skills are the outcomes of this ‘Learn to Sail’. Even those not willing to get into a sailing boat are encouraged to come out on the water with the instructors in the powerboats.

From start to finish the Learn to Sail will take 4 hours.  ASC Sailing School can run this session for 6 to 24 people. A great way to start the festive season! Why not add in drinks, nibbles and lunch or dinner at Oceanique for the complete experience. We can organise a catering package for you or you can choose from the restaurant menu at Oceanique.
