Sailing Development


Youth and adult learn to sail programs operating under the auspices of the Adelaide Sailing School, details from the Adelaide SC office.

Learn to Sail for Juniors/Youth in school terms 4 and 1.

Fleet race coaching for members under 21 years of age each Saturday morning. Free to Club Members and covers novice to skilled youth sailors in their own yachts.

All junior and youth classes are welcome with fleets of Holdfast Tainer, Optimist, International Cadet, 125, 420, Pacer, Catamarans and Laser.
Young beginners (7-10 years) are welcome to try the sport with the aid of experienced sailors in our Pacer dinghies. Parental attendance and assistance is appreciated.

Come and Try sailing for people with a disability. One Sunday a month, in small boats specifically designed for people with limited mobility. For information: Deirdre Schahinger 8373 0902.

Adelaide Sailing Club provides links to specialised groups involved in sailing development, Sailability, School Team Racing, State Youth Squads and the SA Sports Institute High Performance Squad.

The maintenance of equipment (parental help appreciated) and the development of instructors are essential activities.

Sailing Development conducts social events for younger members.
